I architected and operate a production system at Gem Awards, the company where I work. Under the hood it runs on FastAPI and SQLAlchemy, with golden-snapshot tests, self-hosting, and an LLM triage layer whose shadow-mode verifier catches the AI when it is wrong. Around it sit five custom WooCommerce plugins, roughly 28,500 lines, that replaced thousands a year in SaaS, plus an email engine reaching 17,000 subscribers at a 49% open rate.
